My name is Zack Middleton. I am an amateur software developer, game designer, and 2D/3D artist. I have an associate degree focused on computer programming (Waubonsee Community College, 2011) and 7 years of software development experience (since July 2006). I’ve primarily worked on projects based on the free and open source Doom and Quake III Arena engines.
I’m interested in creating free and open source games, watching anime, and listening to music (primarily from [Japanese] TV shows, movies, and video games).
The main examples of what I’ve done are Turtle Arena (game design, programming, and art; character designs based on characters owned by Viacom), Spearmint (engine design, programming), and contributions to ioquake3 since 2009.
I’ve had direct involvement programming for or submitting patches to q3rally, iortcw, Unvanquished, ET: Legacy, EntityPlus, and OpenShot. Indirectly (via ioquake3) my work is also in Reaction, OpenJK, OpenArena, Smokin’ Guns, World of Padman, Monkeys of Doom, and probably others.
I programmed things for a few Sonic Robo Blast 2 mods around 2007/2008. Super Smash Bros-like mod (various features; the core gameplay was by other people). SRB2 Riders (reverse item throwing in Mario Kart mode).
I’ve uploaded some drawings to Flickr.
I use the alias’ ZTurtleMan and ZTM. This website provides information about games and software I’ve worked on and whatever else I post.
